4 avenues to remain productive when you're out of a job

Losing a job sucks and we know it.It takes a toll on our finances, emotional health and overall well-being.Many people's esteem is linked to their ability to be productive and ,when they lose a job, it plummets like never before.

Further, for those who are married and have children, the loss of income puts a huge strain both on the marriage and the ability to make bills.

Also, in a very bad economy where the situation is almost recession-like, it is almost impossible to land a new job. This leads to a feeling of hopeless resignation if one has been unable to find a new job in a long time. Many people withdraw from friends and family , sleep all day , over-eat and lose the will to fight for anything in such a phase.A mild depression often sets in.In extreme cases where the individual's identity was linked to the esteem the job provided, suicide is contemplated.

While one can't improve the economy and the job market with snap of the fingers, one can definitely take steps to earn money, become productive and reclaim ( where lost) self esteem. The hardest part, most unemployed folks say, is getting out of bed with nothing to look forward to.

Alternative job roles can be taken up in the short term till the person finds a full time job.The only pre-requisite to this is that the ego will have to be tamed-it will have to accept the fact that these jobs will not pay as much as their previous full time job would  have and also accept that there is nothing demeaning about taking up any job that helps you be productive in a bad job market. In summary, adapt or die is the buzzword.

The following are some of the avenues to explore:

1.Starting own consulting business
A consultant is a person who provides service/advice in lieu of a fee.The spectrum of consulting is wide and can range from food to financial services .The job allows a person to set his/her own price and hours .

2.Teaching management development programmes
Those with a management degree can teach at management development programs for working executives .The money per hour is more than decent.

3.Teaching at Business School
Never goes out of fashion.Full time or part time is a choice

4.Making your hobby your paysource
People have varied hobbies ranging from playing the piano to painting and some are darn good at it.Making it a part time work vocation doesn't hurt at all.

Relapse of emotional healing and what to do about it

Emotional healing is the process of acknowledging our childhood wounds, behavior patters and traumas which prevent us from having healthy relationships and living a whole life.We often set up therapy sessions/read self help books/hire an online coach/attend community help healing sessions and the likes to change our patterns and evoke self love.Further, we journal, spend time with nature, meditate and relax to effect faster change. After a while, the changes start to take place.Within 8-12 months, we have undone our patterns, healed our wounds and start to attract healthier relationships. We feel energized, whole and happier. We believe this change is permanent. However, oftentimes during periods of loneliness, trauma or loss, the old patterns crop up.Self love goes out of the window.Neediness, clinging, jealousy, rage, avoidance, emotional dishonesty , witholding love, codependence raise their ugly head.Negative emotions buried deep within raise their ugly head.
